No crafting today

I have been a good girl and ............................. tidied the house, walked the dogs, writen my first English Essay for my GCSE and groomed one of last years puppy's Lily. My Essay was my Original writing, I wrote about taking the dogs for a walk ;) well my English teacher did tell me to write something I know about..... and walking dogs is defo something I know about. One down and just four more to go.
I have also just done a evening shop at Tesco and found they are stocking some alpha new stickers (a nice big book with lots of different styles) and rub ons (they aren't great but they will come off the backing sheet with a little extra rubbing which is better than the PM's I bought last month).
We also had some worrying news today, my Niece who is 23 and 4 day's pregnant has gone into labour, it's going to be a long night as I lay awake worrying about her and baby Jack. She is in hospital and at the moment they have stopped her labour but it looks like Jack will not wait long to be born.
Hang on in there just a few more weeks little Jack

Tuesday's Mini book #2

This is the second mini book I made Yesterday. Mike (Trav's eldest) really like the "Furbabies" book I made for my sister so I thought I would make a book for Mike to give to his Girl-friend Georgia. These pictures were taken on her morning on the Island (mine and her's first meeting).
I used Just K&Co papers, Doodlebug rub-ons and some alpha stickers I had from a trip to the States.

flowers and brads just from my stash box

Peoms from here

I hope she likes it :)

Tuesday's Mini book #1

I was feeling very productive yesterday and made a total of two minibooks. the first one was for my sister, about all her pets. Tanya has three cats, JellyBean, Dipstick & Thomas and Two dogs Dixie-Pearl and Ruby-Belle (aka Boo) she loves her animals as much as I love all my babies (mum thinks we are mad). I thought this would be a nice surprise for her when the postman drops it on her door mat later this week.
the book is 12cmx8cm and I used a pre-cut chipboard shape for the front and back covers the pages are cut from sparkly card I get at the local garden centre. I used poems from here in between the photos and left the most of the tags blank for Tanya to write on.
There are quite a few pages in this book so I have just posted some of them here.

I used mostly K&Co papers but there are some left over pieces of Doodlebug papers in there as well, with loads of stickers and rub-ons from my stash.

The Boys, Georgia and a walk on Appley Beach

The Boys arrived last night, I say the boys they are Trav's sons Mike (18) and Darren(17). It's been almost a year since i saw Mike last and I saw Darren at Easter break when he came to stay for the holiday. It's great having them here and I know it makes Trav VERY happy to spend time with his boys (well men as they are now).
Mike brought the lovely Georgia with him. They have been dating now for almost a year and this is the first time I have met her..... verdict....... she's lovely lovely lovely!!!!!!
and she liked the dogs ;)
Unfortunately Georgia was only able to stay until lunchtime today as she has plans she couldn't break. We walked down to the beach this morning and spend an enjoyable few hours paddling and mucking about in the water before we had to say goodbye to Georgia and walk back to the house.

Scrap your day finished July's page's

This is my July page for Shimelles Scrap Your Day Challenge. The Challenge this month was to use B&W photos with just an added touch of colour here and there, either with a whole colour photo or as I have a B&W photo with points of colour. Trav spent a few hours going through "how to" instructions with me for Photoshop so I was able to play about with the programme quite happily changing the colours and sizes.
The three smaller photos have journalling on the back of them, they are attached to ribbons and held in place with mini magnets so that the photos can be lifted and the journalling read. This is also so that the photos don't flap about all over the place. I used Karen Foster and Doodlebug rub-on's, Buttons (Foof-a-La of course) and some new ribbons I bought last week.

LOads of LadyBirds in amongst to journalling.

Beautiful Gifts for my Niece and God-Daughter

It's my youngest God-Daughters Fourth Birthday next month, She is very into crafts already and loves anything than needs either glue or glitter. I colleague at work is a Usborne Books rep and I thought these would be perfect for Honor-Mae. There is also a "Christmas Fairy things to make and do" but this hasn't arrived just yet. If it doesn't come in time for HM's birthday it can go in my Christmas gift box for her.
Her Favorite game at the moment is Snap and what little girl doesn't like fairys? so I added these to my shopping list for her. Although after looking at them I'm debating whether or not the keep them for myself..... can you see why?
;)
This Cot Bumper book I have bought for my eldest Niece who is expecting her first child in November.
Over the next few months I will put together a Baby Shower gift for her which I may have to post up as a trip to "the family" may have to be put off until after christmas with the way the girls (dogs) seasons are going.

it's come around again sooooo quickly.....

And the photo prompt is Black and White
So........................
Both Trav and Myself are off work tomorrow, so I see another trip to the beach with all the dogs once I have given Lily a pampering ( a cocker spaniel haircut).

I've been tagged (again) ;)

Yesterday Tash tagged me with this list of questions, I had to have a real good think about most of these so here goes.........

1. If a movie was being made of your life who would you like to be cast to play yourself?
Dawn French most defiantly or maybe a young Victoria Wood.

2. You are spending a whole month on a desert island for charity and you have to choose your favourite celebrity to spend the first two weeks with & your least favourite celebrity to spend the second two weeks with, who would they be & why?
Jonny Depp for the first 2 weeks but he would have to be as Capt'n Jack! because he's just so damn sexy and the second part of the month that awful man with the sideburns who does the horseracing I can't stand him he just grates on my nerves................ but I'd be so soaked in Rum from two weeks with Capt'n Jack I could put up with anything.

3. What are your three favourite crafting products?
Buttons
Bazzill Card stock
ladybird buttons and stickies

4. If you could invent something to do anything what do you think it would be?
A self cleaning house!! and after today's massive pile of ironing, clothes that come out of the machine ready ironed.

5. What are the last three books that you read?
"Why men don't listen and women can't read maps" by Barbara and Allan Pease
"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak
"The Other Boleyn Girl" by Philippa Gregory

6. QVC or Create & Craft?
No thanks

7. Docrafts or Dovecraft or DCWV?
Ummmmmmmmmmmmm would have to be DCWV but just their CS

8. What is your claim to fame?
I've had afterdinner drinks with Jim Davidson (the comedian) served dinner to "Little and Large" and been presented my Gold DofE Award by the Duke of Edinburgh at St James Palace.

Now I'm supposed to tag 5 more people, so this goes out to Ruth, Debs, Annette, Penny & Laura

Gold Card...... how nice if it were a real one ;)

I received a blog post this morning on my blog from dddeebbbzzz telling me she had a little somit for me on her blog, so off i went to have a look and see what i found!!!!!!

Ohhhhh....... How i wish it was a real one :) I'd be on that ferry driving off up to my chums house to go stash shopping with her. I can just see all those lovely new scrapping tools being crossed off the list........... dream on...... :)

So Debz tells me there are rules attached to this so lets have a little look at them:
1. Only 5 people allowed.
2. 4 have to be dedicated followers of your blog
3. One has to be someone new or recently new to your blog and live in another part of the world
.4. You must link back to whoever gave you the award.
so I will dedicate this to April as my new blog visitor who lives in another part of the world
hummmmmmmmmm dedicated followers of my blog......... that's a little harder as I haven't been part of the blogging community for long yet I only have a few people who come here regular like..... the main one of those is Debz who gave me the gold card.
So I choose Enfys who I will hopefully being doing my first stash swap with, Ruth another Ladybird Lady like myself, Beautifullily my first chum on UKS, and Tash a new bloggy chum.
So now I'm off to post comments on their blogs to let them know there's a little sommit, sommit on here for them.
Have a great Thursday all!!!
if you are on your school holidays enjoy!!!!!!!!!

Mom in Washington DC

Another LO using photos sent to us from Trav's little brother Stirling. Mom (my MIL) went to stay with Stirling in Washington DC during the Spring this year. It was great to get these photos as Trav hasn't seen his family in about 4 years and I know he loves hearing from them and getting up to date photos. I tried another new technique for this LO.
I have admired other scrappers LO's with a drawn boarders and thought I should try doing this. So here is my attempt. I was a little worried about drawing on my CS just in case I didn't like the end product, but happily I did like it!! I just used a couple of sheets of Bazzill with a sheet of flowered PP from HOTP.
The M is a Bazzill BigAlpha, I used my BigShot for the rest of the lettering.
I used up the last of my purple, sage green and lilac Primas and finished off a packet of PM jewels. I so want a bejeweler! I think that will have to be my next buy.
And a little red ladybird squeezed in amougst the flowers.

It's tough being Suki-Su

I though it was about time it did another LO Suki-Su, she is our second youngest cocker spaniel and the leader of our pack. Often called Wigglebum, because of her size (she is built for comfort not speed, my beautiful baby girl).

The Foof-A-La's came out again all orange this time. I love them so much.........
I used them on this LO to outline a K&Co paper heart.

This is Suki-Su all over Perfect!
Well she thinks she is............ ;)
I love these BoBunny Rub on's, after trying to use PM rub on's (Nooooooooooooooo........ never again will I use them!!!) these BoBunny ones are a real treat to use, they transfer beautifully and come in so many lush designs.

Here is the finished LO.
I inked all the edges which is still a little new to me. I really went for it with this LO and wiped the ink pad across the main part of the paper. I enjoyed using this technique and am very happy with the effect.

Sadly no bug on this one.
I will have to go bug hunting again for some non-red LB's

A walk from the Abby to the beach

It's been such a lovely day today. We took three of the girls and drove over to Quarr Abby. It's so peaceful here (well until Suki turned up it was).
It's about a mile and a half walk along a pretty path down to the beach. My dream would be to buy a house somewhere here but the penny's will never stretch quite that far ;) This tree is a favorite pic-nic spot of mine. It looks a bit ncomfy from this view, but it has a natural seating area that has been smoothed by the sea and the weather. We often wander down here and have a sarnie and watch the boats go by.

Just love this view.
the man and the scenery
Me.
Shame about my face!!! I think I was calling Maggie back form the woods.
Trav on the tree
The girls love the beach down here. it's best when the tide is high as other wise they will run through tons of sludgy mud and clay to get to the shore. but at high tide it's really very pleasant. Just a short gravelly beach and nice clear and clean water for them to play in. Sploshing about waiting for me to throw a stickSuki shouting about something???????
Back at home now settled in front of the telly watching the gorgeous Lewis Hamilton win the German grand prix (just 4 laps to go drive safe Lewis, drive safe)
