Now that's what I call SERVICE.........

Yesterday I had a little stash shopping session on t'internet. I ordered some bits and bobs from a couple of my fav stash shops and spend an enjoyable few hours wading through all the ladybug' (not bird) makeys on Esty'

Good service #1 - I have a lovely parcel winging it's way to me from Palmbeach from a very helpful lady called Sandy who happily changed her shipping details to 'outside the States' just for little Ol' me and placed a 'last of line' product on hold for me......... yes it's LB related but you'll have to wait until it gets here to see what it is.

Good service #2 - I love my BIA, but the wires that I bought with it although they seemed plenty big enough when I bought them, really aren't and I needed the 1 1/4" size. I searched the net and couldn't find them anywhere here in the UK (in brown) the ever helpful MJ at Every Moment Matters contacted me, and now I have a nice big box of six (and some other bits and bobs that jumped into my 'cart') on their way to me................ hurry up Mr Postie.

Good Service #3 - and I have to say this really has made my morning!!!!!!!!! Yesterday very late in the morning I placed an order with Sue over at Crafty Stash for some Thickers and Technique Tuesday stamps......... yesterday morning mind you!!!!!
they came TODAY!!! WOW!!!!! and there's an extra mini stamp in the parcel.

Now that's what I call good service!!!!!
I think from now on I'll order everything on a Friday it seems to be a "good buying day".

I LOVE the IOW

It never occurred to me before we moved here that towns still had Carnivals!!!!! I knew about the Notting Hill one and Pride but there's something about living on the Island that brings out the quirky side of people (and that's a good thing). It's totally normal here in Ryde to see people in fancy dress on a Friday night (not at a party just out on the town) we often see a young girl who shops in a wedding dress and army boots......... It seems most things "go" go here on BoHo isle ;) and I love it!!!!

Tonight I saw my first Parade!!! It was fantastic!!!!! (I missed last years due to the weather).
I went along with my new Camera and took over 600 photos!!!!!

Yes I know!!! 600!!!!
but possibly 250-300 are OK the rest are blurred because of my inexperience with the camera and then due to low light levels.

Here are a few that I can share
I Just love this Dragon!!!This little dog got involved but I don't think HE was to impressed about the fairy wings ;) Towards the end of the Parade it started to get dark and most of my shots became very blurred but I kind of like the effect on these two. Tomorrow afternoon is the Children's Carnival and Saturday night is the Illuminated Carnival both in Ryde. So I know where I'll be for the next few day's what are your plans?

Two Challenge LO's plus.....

I took up the UKS weekly Challenge again this week.

Use a Royal theme 10 pts - I was A Queen for a Day - title
Use the colour yellow 5pts - poetic licence on this one - "the Hatters Tie"
Use Circles 5pts - loads and loads
Use some Shine 5pts - I took this to mean bling, so added some PM Gems
Use something new to you 5pts - stamping with white ink onto black CS.

I used Doodlebug papers for the white background and red dotty pp, and the scalloped edged paper is spring fling by pink paislee, I stamped the journaling block onto more of the springfling, the "Queen" is stamped using Doodlebug stamps. I made hand written journaling tiles using a white sakura pen on black cardstock, and I used the last of my black and red felt blooms and added Foof-a-La buttons. I stamped three arrows onto black CS and journaled about Trav's odd costume ;)

The Mojo Challenge
this one is another challenge thread on UKS, one all aimed at loss of Mojo......... not that i'm having a problem at the mo ;) but it's always nice to join in :)

I used some of my new Costco papers and handful of Prima blooms some buttons, eyelets and PM gems. I hand cut three circles and used a swirly stamp and my new Kelly Panacci stamps for the titling. i also journaled with some doodlebug rub-ons around the circles.

My last Lo for the Day is about my fears in using my new camera, and what a huge challenge it is going to be!!!!! I made a new Wordle all about my camera which wasn't big enough the first time i made it so i googled the camera and copied down loads of info about it pasting this along with my words into wordle the finished result was much more compact! I liked it!!

I doodled and journaled on the black CS and tried a real layering approach to this LO. I used a mixed of paper scraps and a K&Co tag (on which i made a spelling mistake :( SLR not SRL!!!)
I wanted to make the whole LO very "Cameraery" (not a real word I know) so i used Rub-ons on the buttons with "say cheese" and "snap" and added a little Birdie so you have something to watch ;)

loads of LB's all over the place :)

My New Baby

Look at this little beauty!!!!!
She's a Canon EOS 450DWe have just been and had a play with some camera's at the local Camera Shop and Trav bought me this little baby.
I'm charging the battery as I type and can't wait to get out and play with her. I have never had an SLR camera before so am really looking forward to seeing what kind of photos I'll end up with possibly lots of blurred ones to start with ;)

Remember to charge your Batteries :)

Coz it's almost time to Scrap your day!!!

Preparing to go back to school

Ohhhhhhhhhhh I love my BIA!!!!!!!!!
I had the idea to make a calender for my new classroom and also wanted make a minibook of my Furbabies to have on my desk, so mixing the two ideas up I came up with this.

I start the school year with Gracie, the calender panels where made on Word I changed the font to something a little more fun (Every time I miss You) and printed the months out two to a A4 sheet of cream card.

Sweet Suki is my October girl, I have used Foof-a-La buttons and some plain green ribbon with some Karen Foster rub-ons to note the month on the photo part of each page.

Novembers cover girl is Maggie-Mae in one of my favorite photos of her, taken her first day on the IOW back in early 2007. The large flower is made using my new Technique Tuesday stamp. I also used some antique Lace (that i got from my sisters neighbour), ribbon and a Bazzill flower.

Molly in her Christmas Jumper just had to be the face of December, the primas came out again for this month topped off with some Bazzill brads and a K&Co covered brad, Ribbons in green & red are adorned with Foof-a-La's and I used a stamp and some rub-ons to leave a Christmas message

Starting the New Year with Suki and Diggory on Appley Beach, just a few rub-on's here with a few primas and brads

Trav's Birthday month so here's my man! circled with PM gems. Throughout the Calender I have noted special dates to Trav and I, from our birthday's to our Bi-annual "Cockers on the Beach" walk.

Round two for Suki-Su some doodling and circle here this is mid way through so I have added a second hanging point here. My original thought was one tab would be enough but as I worked through the book it became too thick for one ribbon to cope.

The best month of the year!!!!! Is April!!!!!
I love my birthday and have no fear that each year I grow older......... O' scary!!!!!
No I love reaching each Birthday and looking back on what I have done and forward to what I plan to achieve (this mind set is thanks to Trav who's massively positive out-look on live is really rubbing of on me). Of course all the ladybirds are a must they are all rub ons and i have marked both mine and my sisters birthdays with gems and LB's

Vinnie gets a look in, in May I used more lace, ribbons and Primas here, there's also a little bug hiding away on this page.

More Rub ons and Lace for June, with my favorite recent photo of Molly, not sure what she was doing......... Yawning or licking her lips but i love it!

The year closes with Diggoy in the sea at the Duver. As august doesn't really feature in the school year I haven't made a page for this month. so if I ever decide to have this calender at home then I will have to do an add on.

The papers i have used throughout the Calender are from my K&Co box with a little textured card added here and there. the pages are made from medium weight cardstock as I didn't want the finished calender to be too heavy and the layers PP has made the pages very sturdy. The are Lb's on every page either inplain sight but some are shy and have tucked themselves away.

Mini Book for a friend

I have recently become the proud Part owner of a lovely golden cocker spaniel called Hunni. I normally don't do "Part ownerships" but I really wanted her and I just don't have the room in this house, It just so Happened that really good friend of mine "T" had asked me to keep an eye out for a dog for her as she was now in the position to become a dog mum again.

I visited them both last week and made T a Mini book using my new BIA.
Another project that still needs a Title
Using all K&Co papers, ribbons & Lace from my stash, Primas, Buttons, Rub-ons and some of my new Stamps, even a few Ladybirds thrown in for good measure.

Back from my trip with tons of stash

What a mad week I have had. leaving Sunday to travel the four hours back to my friends house. I normally try and visit as many of my family and friends while I'm in the area, so each day was filled with coffee and visits. As i was leaving my Mum and dads on Monday Mum asked me if I waned My Nans old sewing box she was going to throw it out and wondered if I could use it. I have very fond memories of my nan and this Sewing box, so although it needs a totally overhaul and a LOT of TLC I'm really pleased to have it and am looking forward to repairing it. My second gift was just as nice and very unexpected. My Sisters neighbour was trying to find a home for all this lace......... could I use it?????
Oh I think so :)
Then at my friend Alison's I received a third gift. Alison found this mug while on holiday in France and thought that I would be able to give it a good home :) I love it and haven't yet decided whether to take it to work and have soup for lunch each day or to keep it on my craft table and fill it with sweeties??? My Stash from CTM
Rub-ons and stickers many of them with LB's on.
Beautiful Ladybird like ribbons.
I topped up my Prima collection.
Added a few papers to my folder.
I searched high and low for some ladybirds to bring home with me.

Of course I had to update my button collection. I think maybe a little to many? but......... a girl can never have to many buttons.
and some new stamps.
To finish my trip I went all out and bought a BIA, I have been umm'ing and Rrr'ing over getting one of these for ages and saw them on special at a garden center while having coffee with an old work friend and thought 'Oh what the hell!!!
I came home to this........... 300 sheets of double sided 12x12 papers :)
A big Thank you to my crafting friend Anna for picking these up for me I'm looking forward to working my way through these. Heaven knows just how many crafting penny's I blew but I don't often get the go t a good craft shop so I enjoyed spending every one of them.

All Christmas'd out now.

Another trip to Tesco this morning and I started with this........... Which turned into this.................... and from this I made these.................
this one's for my sister
this one the first of four that I want to make for friends
and my last two today are for my cousin's baby boy Charlie and my God-Daughter Honor-Mae

I still have enough boxes to make another five................... but I'm really fed put with sticking match boxes together now. So I think back to some "normal" scrapping for a while I think.

AnyWhoo I'm off away for a few day's tomorrow so I won't be about for a week.

Missing Ya all already :)
