WOYWW? cricut!!!!!

SANTA BOUGHT ME A CRICUT!!!!!!!!!
Sorry but I'm just soooooooo excited to have one of these!!!!!!!
I may well ramble a little on this post about how great my new toy is :) Trav and I didn't have anything for Christmas day we chose to have our gifts to each other later and get exactly what we wanted. Trav is having some mother board thingumabob for the media centre and a couple of new tuners for it???
Whatever!
As long as it makes him happy and it means I could have one of these I'm Happy as well :)
During a trip to the North Island (that's mainland Uk to all you Mainlanders) I stopped in to see Vikki at CTM and collected my Xmas pressy and a few other bits and pieces. I was a good girl though and did all the housework and groomed two pups before braking open the box and having a play today with it. I have depleted my cut off's box just playing with all the settings and experimenting with the cartridges I bought.

So back to my Desk
I spent some time working on my JYC today I'm a few days behind because of the trip. I have only managed to complete Boxing day today but I'm planning on going to Sam's on Saturday so hopefully I'll get caught up then.
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas? we did it was very relaxed just as I planned. I got some lovely Ladybird themed gifts the cup you can see in the picture above is from my lovely friend Sam. Her children gave me these two sweet Bug frames that I'm still to find photos for.

My other Crafting friend Zoe (Sam's little Sister) made me a lovely "cream spotty" mini BOM (book of me). You can see it at the back of my bug shelf, I understand she was in cahoots with Trav to get some good photos of me for the book.

Have a good New Year I might not be back for a while the pups are 6 weeks old now and taking up most of my spare time so I'm busy busy busy!!!!

WOYWW? sewing!!!

Nice and early this morning. I am working today for the last time before the Christmas break, not much of a work day really, we are taking the children to the pictures :) and it's a film I really want to see as well!
So What's on your Workdesk today??
A while back I saw this post on Angie's blog. I thought that this was such a sweet project i would just have to have a go at it. Angie had kindly added this link for the pattern and instructions for others to follow.
I'm the first to admit that my Mushroom isn't a patch on the original, I'm not very good with a needle and thread, but I enjoyed making this mainly because it was quick and looks really cute.

I'm thinking about popping into town to day after work to buy some more white and red felt. I would like to make a few more of these for some crafty friends who sew. After a Tesco shop this evening (which is going to be a nightmare I'm sure) I'll hop about blog land and see all your desks.
Pop by Julia's blog (link above) and see what others are getting up to!

Day 14
You lovely ladies are very sweet with your comments but I really don't think I have enough original ideas to be published :) mostly I lift and adjust from other things I've seen and liked. I'm just happy to have a Hubby who doesn't mind my craft spending habits and is happy to sit alone in front of the telly most nights while I create at the beautiful desk he bought me. But I do appreciate the comments. Thank you!

Canned Mojo.

I had a little bit of fun last Sunday, other than entertaining our puppy visitors (the families come each weekend to see their Babies) I made a few jars of Mojo.
I can only post these few sneak peak photos as they are gifts for some of my crafting friends.

Black and Purple Mojo
Pink and Black Mojo.
and Pure White OCD Mojo

I just need to find suitable boxes to pack them up in.

Late again!!!!! WOYWT

There's not a massive amount of crafting going on here at the moment. I am up to date with my JYC purely because I pre-prepared day 16 as I knew I would be out last night at a friends Virgin V party (not that impressed with the produces was a good girls and just bought an eyeshadow). I am late joining in WOYWW because of the party :)
So my desk to the left you can see my project boxes with all my JYC stash stored safely away all ready for me at a moments notice as and when I need it. I have three packs of pencils to wrap for the students at work. My JYC is sitting next to the drawers that my red xmas tree sits on. and my table tote is next to the Journal. Other than that???? nothing much of interest really I have my notice board covered in "stuff" and as you can see I was reading Julia's blog when I took this photo. my morning coffee cup and a note of jobs with the phone for my husband ready for him to do when he gets home from work this evening. A lot of my time at the moment is being spent here.....
here and .........
here.
They are four weeks old now and things are getting really interesting in the kitchen. The noise levels are rising as they learn to play fight and drag each other around the crate. Maggie is very good with them and will sit and let them hang of her ears and climb all over her. She doesn't sleep with them anymore but will curl up in her basket in front of the opening to the crate. Keeping an eye ion what they are getting up to. Suki-Su came into season yesterday so that means we will have spring puppies as well (hopefully).

I have the next two days at a local high school with a student who really doesn't need me for lesson support (although he needs me to be there so he can behave). I shall be totally bored :( think of me while you are all sat at your crafting desks!

Yesterdays Crop

Yesterday was the last WCC crop of 2009. it's amazing tho think that this is the second Christmas break our little group has had. I have made some really good friends through this group and I love loVe love! coming together once a month (more if we get the time) to crop with these ladies.
Yesterday saw me making thank you cards ready to write and take to my parents after Christmas (I'm getting prepared because I travel up the day after Boxing day and won't have time to make them between Christmas and travelling). I also completed two LO's both for Shimelles Scrap Like You Mean It Challenge.

SLYMI wk 50
scrap a recipe

the sheet of kraft paper behind the picture is printed with the song "a recipe for Love"

SLYMI wk 49
Scrap the sketch
to be honest I wasn't that keen on the sketch when I saw it. I thought it looked uneven some how. But I'm really pleased with this LO and I love the red against the Kraft CS

~o~

These next two LO's I completed last weekend and have been waiting for the light to be good enough to take photos of them.
I saw this LO by Fiona Beckman on UKS a while back and loved it straight away. I have been planning a lift of it since Jack was about three months old.

Thanks to the comment added today I have been able to find the orignal and have added a link to the photo.

My Lift of the LO above

Year in Your Life
I then completed this LO of Jack with his Birthday cake.

Have a great Sunday I'm off to JYC :)
