WOYWW? reading materials

Sorry no crafting tonight. apart from the fact that I'm feeling like poo (a chest infection has arrived with full force) Today I have just taken delivery of the whole set of Sookie Stackhouse novels. I have already read the first three (I bought them last week from Tesco) and am determined to start book four this evening. I'm also dosing up well on cough meds and antibiotics (as of a trip to the dr's this evening).
Carmen might not want to talk to me after my surpried Facebook blurt last night! But I was so upset to find out what Sookie does............. with Eric!!!!!

On the dog front it was my old girl Molly-Jo's 11th Birthday yesterday

Layouts from the weekend.

I spent most of the weekend crafting, did a little housework but not much and clipped all of the dogs. So quite quiet really. here are the four Lo's I have completed.

PERFECT

photos all taken of my youngest niece KP at her sisters wedding last September. I used MME papers and some Bazzill CS. The heart was cut out on the cricut. I cut five out and layered then for a little thickness. THINKING PINK
another LO about KP. She is 12 weeks pregnant and hoping for a girl. The PP i have used is Making Memories. I then just dug through my stash and found loads of pink embellishments to use.

RUBBER DUCKY
I thought these photos of Jack in the tub just had to be scrapped. I used fancy pants and Crate papers. some bubble wrap for the background and Bazzill CS

COUNTRY GIRL
another LO about my Niece KP. ( i got a whole bunch of photos off her computer when I went up at Christmas time). On this LO I have used mainly MME papers I just love how thick they are. and a couple of my new AC stamps.
and a quick photo of Beebee, she is a dream to have about the house. So well behaved and quiet. The toilet training is coming on really well and Diggory is finally getting used to having a puppy int he house. she has however had a really bad reaction to her first vaccination. A large abscess is growing on her neck/shoulder so I now not only is she on eye treatments, she is now taking antibiotics as well.

Document 2010

Document 2010 is the new class I'm following from Shimelle I have made a start on a minibook for this project and although I will watch all the prompts and ideas with interest I'm going to go my own way with this project. I had already decided to make a journal of the year and complete a page of journaling along with a few or just one/ photo from the month. Shimelles class fits in perfectly with this idea even though she is recommending 12x12 LO's for her class.
This is the front cover of my book. the ribbon is attached at the bas of the back cover and has a strip of elastic (hidden by the cover) so it lifts on and off easily. the two flowers have been coated in glossy accents and then I also coated them in Sarah's cards "dead flat varnish" for added strength. The cover without the ribbon. the book is made from Kraft CS each page was cut to 5.5x5" I then cut the tabs into the pages. The covers are just thick CS cut to 5x5 so the tabs show.
The inside cover is just a quick explanation of why I'm doing this on some nice journaling blocks I had been saving for something special.
Each month has a double page and an envelope with the month dyecut out (using the cricut) and attached. I plan to add stamping and flat embellishments along with journaling and photos at the end of each month. In the envelope I'm keeping little bits and bobs from the month. I might have to go through this bundle at the end of the month and thin it out as I don't want this book to become as thick as my JYC did I want to be able to bind this book with my BIA. I have a full pack of Elle's studio Calendar cards that I'm also adding to this book I'll possibly stick a photo on the back of each one as the back is just white cardstock.

Layouts

Finally this morning I got around to taking photos of my LO's and the 2010 journal (so far) . I wanted to post these before work so forgive me this is a quickie post. i have tons planned for this afternoon and this evening and I might not get chance to get back to cyber-land until late this evening.

So first up, the most recent LO I completed this last night and although it's a bit sickly sweet colour wise I still really like it. I rarely use this much pink and surprised myself that I had such a lot of pink stuff in my stash.
You and Me Walking in a Winter Wonderland.
The chipboard swirl is coated in about three layers of pink embossing power the power did get a bit too hot in places and started to bubble. I'm not overjoyed at using this method (one coat just didn't cover the chipboard) but the thought of covering in paper and filing was one of dread. I have used a mixture of stickers and journal blocks from my stash. The papers I got at CTM over Christmas Not sure what brand they are as they had no labels.

This Weather is Snow Fun
Lots of kraft CS and Bazzill here. plenty of OA stickers and some lace. The sewing machine came out for a play with this LO. and I cut the SNOW title using the cricut.

2009

a round up here for 2009. this was the LO I wanted to make to complete my SLYMI but the printer didn't arrive in time for me. So this is my second 2009 LO. The blanked out piece of journaling is a secret that I'm not allowed to share with anyone.

Right I must get off to work. Have a good Monday everyone!

Craft Space Invasion of a Coffee Thief!

A quick post for a Saturday morning. Beebee has to have her eye wiped and have drops put in twice a day. She's very good but can be a little wiggly when I do this so I have found it easier to stand her on a table and then I have both hands to work with. I had forgotten the wipes this morning so just rolled (chair has wheels) away for a second and found her like this when I returned!
Hummmmmm don't think I'll be finishing that cup of coffee.
Even with this invasion of my space ;) I have been creating loads of pretties just lately. Sam and I spent a whole day yesterday working on our journals for 2010 and I must say we have both made a fab job with them. piccy's will follow. I also have a few LO's that i need to photograph and post and a few more LO's in mind for creating. Loads of Mojo going on over here on the Island :)

W(was)OMWW?

Due to my tiredness or tardiness ;) I didn't post yesterday. I did however take a photo of my work desk and here it is. In fact this is a photo of my craft area rather than just the desk. Yes the fairy lights are still up and until Monday I had them on each evening, coz I think they look pretty as I craft. Sadly a bulb has gone somewhere along the line, and they will have to come down now as the spare bulbs have been packed away and I can't be bothered to go looking for them. On the middle shelf of my unit you can see some (and I mean some) of my ladybird collection, and the top shelf holds photos of past pets and odd bits of memorabilia Here is a close up of the deska nd the finished LO that I was creating last night. It is the first of many snow LO's I have planned, these will have to stay as planned however as the post man still hasn't bought my ink supply :( . Wispo will see two of her creations in front of my computer screen, they live there and watch over my stash. The cricut has been in use again, just for the title of this LO but I have plans for a another wall hanging hopefully to be made this weekend squeezed in between a trip to IKEA :) :) and dying my hair.

About a month ago I made this post Now that all my lovely friends have received their gifts I can reveal what the post was all about.

This is the Canned OCD Mojo I made for Zoe she had hers as part of her Chrimbo pressie from me.

This is Sam's canned Mojo also part of her Chrimbo gift
and this one was made for Carmen, hers was the last to arrive as I needed to find a box the right size so I could post it, and then the snow arrived and nothing was going on or off the island via royal mail. But the Carmen Mojo is now safely with the real Carmen and I am able to post these photos :)
I received this lovely email from Carmen today :)

Awww Paige - I just received one of my favourite presents ever! Thank you!! :o) :o)
And do you know what? I look GOOD skinny what an incentive to get back on my healthy eating ;) I looooooove my Mojo, thank you so much.
Been trying to get a good piccy but the light here is awful so am hoping you took one of your amazing piccies before you sent it off so I can link to it - mine wont do it justice at all.
Thank you again - Craig even wolf whistled at my Mojo - not sure if I should be jealous! :P

Snow day crafting #3

I wasn't able to post this until tonight as Zoe hadn't seen it. she has just been able to create a crafting space in her room, and wanted to make it all pretty and crafty looking. I thought she might like a wall hanging to add to her collect of "nice" stuff :)

I'll have to post my WOYWW tomorrow as although I've taken some photos I'm tired now and Trav has just walked in the door after driving home from Manchester, and I haven't seen him in two days ;)

Snow day crafting #2

I enjoyed making the wall hanging for my friend "L" and thought I would make another for my friend with the flash crafting studio in her back garden. "A" has the whole thing dec'd out in cream and jade, she also has a love of all things purple. so my colours were already chosen for me :) The panels are the same as yesterdays all measuring 3" wide and a mix of 4", 3" and 2.5" long. each panel is covered in a cream PP from MME, sanded and inked at the edges. I double cut all the letters on the cricut using the standard and the shadow settings. Glazed half with glossy accents and left the other half plain.

I then just added anything in my stash that was either jade or purple to the panels and added each letter to spell out CREATE. once threaded up with garden string i added a glob of stickles to my finger and smeared it about on the edges of the panels.

Snow day crafting

Over the last few days since the snow arrived I found myself pretty much house bound, other than popping out for the odd dog walking the snow covered fields (even the dogs are getting fed up now of the cold white stuff!). I have stayed in and created. The shoulder is healing and being without ink for the new printer hasn't stopped me! I have been getting to grips with the cricut and my sanding files. A good friend of mine has a big birthday in a week or two and I wanted to make her something other than the normal minibook she gets from me (also with not photos I'm pretty much stuck on the minibook side of things) so I thought about a wall hanging to match her lounge decor, Red and Brown.

I cut my mount board to mixture of 3"x3" 3"x4" and 3"x2.5" pieces covered them with some MME cream patterned paper and sanded and inked all the edges. I punched holes top and bottom of all the pieces except the smallest piece that I just punched on one side.

I used the cricut to cut out the letters LOVE in a brown patterned paper from Crate paper. I then cut LOVE out in shadow in a deep red Bazzill CS. I layered these two cuts together. The O&E got a coating of Glossy accents and the L&V got some white stitches drawn on them.

I then just decorated each panel with a selection of red and brown off cuts from my scraps box, some lace and glazed flowers. finishing the whole thing off with a swip of stickles for a little glam look. I strung the whole thing together with garden string tying all the knots on the back of each panel.

Why Beebee?

Since changing Minnie's name to Beebee I have had a few people ask me why Beebee? well there is a story behind this and I'll let you in on it now. I have been a Cocker breeder now for a few years and although I love all the puppies I breed and rear until 2007 I had never fallen "in love" with a puppy knowing they would all be leaving me at 8 weeks stopped me making "that" bond with any of them. I adore all the babies and they all have tons of cuddles and lovin's while they are here with me, but there was one puppy in Maggie's first litter that I so wanted to keep her name was Phoebe-Bee. I was so upset when her owners came to collect her and have dreamed of owning my own golden girl called Phoebe ever since.

When Maggie's litter was born this year I had to help rear this little dot as she was smaller than all the others and kept getting shoved out the way at feeding time. Maggie was great and would come out of the nest to feed her without the others. but the bulk of the feeding was done by me.

she spend so much time in my arms she became used to being there. I had no plans to keep any puppies from this litter and we found a lovely home for her, she was named Minnie.
As she grew it was clear to see something was wrong with one of her eyes.

After a trip to the vet we were told that she might have an infection and given some drops. This however didn't clear up and after a second trip to the vets we were told that her right eyeball is smaller then it should be. As the eye lids and socket are normal size her little eye doesn't fill the space. Until she is fully grown we will not know the extent of her requirements. There is a possibly she will need surgery, she might even lose her eye.
With all this in mind we have chosen to keep her with us until we know what her life will bring. (the lovely family that were planning to home Minnie are going to wait and have a puppy from Suki's next litter that is hopefully due at the end of next month). However I can see once she has been here a few more months I will be very reluctant to let her go to a new family once her eye is sorted (either way).
As she is now my puppy I wanted her to have a name that I have chosen not the name the puppy she might have been. I always wanted Phoebe to be my next breeding girl, this little sweetie will never breed (she will be spay as soon as she is old enough) so she couldn't be my Phoebe. Sam, my friends little girl is called Shelby but is nicknamed Bee. Bee loves coming over to help me with the pups and adores Beebee.

So she is named in honour of Phoebe (the pup I will have to wait for) and the lovely Shelby (the best puppy-maid in Ryde). Beebee my little squiffy eyed puppy.
Look forward to more plenty of updates and she becomes part of our mad family.

WOYWW? a new printer and a new puppy.

So here we go for the first time this year here's my workdesk. and yes it's a mess and not very creative but I've just got back in from a very cold and snowy walk with the dogs..... yes you read that right it's snowing here on the Isle of no snow!!! So far we have had about 5" and it looks like there's plenty more to come. Trav and I are both home today, as his van is snowed in and it's too far for him to walk to work Not that he'd get there if he tried as it right on top of a hill. He has chosen to sit and watch Saw2 (much to my disgust) so I'm spending time on here and playing with the pups.
Back to my desk what can you see........... a LO I completed yesterday which is a round up of 2009 still to be photographed before I pop it into my album. My hat, camera and earphones discarded after my walk, and then just the normal stuff I keep here. This little fellow arrived yesterday to replace my big Epsom dead printer, all A4 stuff will now be done on the laser-jet in the office and I can just print out what photos I need as I need them. this printer can print passport size through to 5x7. and they aren't too bad quality either.
I'm off work this week with a bad shoulder and Sam came over to see me on Tuesday bringing this sweet little pin cushion for me. She made it after a mushroom sewing session here on her birthday.
and some other news!!! I'm keeping this little pup :) after a trip to the vets last night (they all go at seven weeks for a check up) it was decided that because of the problem she has with her eye we are going to keep her (at least until she is old enough for surgery). I have renamed her from Minnie to Beebee.

There are loads more photos of them on my other blog if you want to see them.
